Sorry for the tangent. And does the 'x' affect the value? The model numbers, however, are NOT retired. The earlier horns with the rolled tone holes are the most valuable. The other great engravers were the Osbornes, not Ozzy

I dunno; probably the subject of another thread out there I'm sure. The 'shading', if that's the proper term, is wild, creating a shadowing effect. My son played it in high school band until a few years ago and it had new pads and cork then. It is a used sax but technical in pristine conditions. Please note that some 12M's still have the "Naked Lady" engraving.
